The Story Behind The Tiki Punch
With the re-resurgence of tiki culture comes tropical cocktails made with whiskey, Scotch, and more. Rum still plays a part, of course, but contemporary tiki tastemakers are inviting the entire bar to the grass-skirted party.
VinePair contributor Natalie Migliarini, whose wanderlust-inducing Instagram handle is @beautifulbooze, created this large-format tiki punch using Seagram’s vodka, pineapple juice, and mint simple syrup. To make the latter, drop a few sprigs of mint leaves into homemade simple syrup as it cools.
Ingredients
- 1 750-milliliter bottle of vodka, such as Seagram’s
- 3 cups pineapple juice
- 2 cups lime juice
- 1 cup mint simple syrup
- Mint leaves, lime wheels, and pineapple slices for garnish (optional)
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and top with ice.
- Stir to mix.
- Serve with garnishes over ice.
