The Story Behind The Chartreuse in the Evening

Last week I was playing around with a bottle of Green Chartreuse I have had lying around for a while. The bold, herbal flavor is always so intimidating that I usually look past it but I finally got the courage to go out on a limb and experiment with using more than just a few drops in a cocktail.

Surprisingly, it was really easy to do; by combining a whole ounce into cocktails and using other ingredients that had more subtle flavors, it turned out very balanced in many different concoctions. The Chartreuse in the Evening turned out to be my favorite as an after-dinner cocktail with really delicate flavors all coming together.

The moral of the story? Be fearless, take risks, and treat yourself to that after-dinner cocktail. You deserve it.
