El Alto’s story begins in the highest highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, where the 100% Blue Weber Agave plants are known to be the sweetest. After waiting years for the agave to reach full maturity and maximum sugar levels, it is harvested and chopped by hand by trained Jimadors. The agave is then baked in small-batch clay ovens for days, drawing out sweet, nutty, and smoky flavors. Afterward, it is painstakingly crushed using large volcanic stones known as tahonas, imparting an earthy minerality to the roasted agave juice. 

PATRÓN El Alto is then aged in 11 different types of wooden barrels, including mixed barrels composed of American oak bodies and French Oak heads, giving this rare tequila its unique and complex sweetness with soft echoes of dried fruit, vanilla, and caramel.
