Over the last decade whiskey has surged in popularity in America, reclaiming its traditional throne from vodka as America’s best selling spirit. This is because of both booming demand for whiskey — particularly bourbon and Irish whiskey — along with rising whiskey prices. Those rising prices, and a general shift toward pricier whiskeys among American drinkers, means that by volume vodka still holds the consumption crown.
