Wiley Roots Blueberry & Lemon County Fair Cobbler Review

This is part of Wiley Roots' ongoing "County Fair Cobbler" series, a sour IPA series emulating different versions of the decadent dessert. With Blueberry & Lemon, which employs pureed blueberries, lemons, graham cracker, cinnamon, vanilla, and lactose (and — coming up for air here! — which is also dry-hopped with Vic Secret hops), the result is more dessert than beer, with a heavy-handed bitter pithy note. The lemon comes through as more peel than puree — one taster exclaimed, "I want a meringue!" — perhaps indicating that ingredient belongs in another pie.  Nevertheless, too much tart pastry for one palate can be a perfect treat to split amongst friends.
