Terra di Seta Chianti CLassico Riserva DOCG 2012
Review
Often Chianti is great in it’s youth, and while it can get better in its old age, that old age doesn’t often exceed a decade. This Riserva, held longer in bottle in the cellar before release, is still doing work, proving this idea wrong. It's drinking just fine right now with a deep, dark hue and that signature sour cherry, floral, forest floor aroma combo. But the tannin is still prominent, promoting some fun mocha and baking spices, and this means the bottle still needs a few more years! Actually, this wine might even peak just at about 2025, well over that ten year mark. So enjoy one now and lay one down to see how this big guy ages.
