Rocca di Montegrossi Chianti Classico DOCG 2017 Review

This wine is sneaky. It has a nice 13.5% alcohol and is a blend of the native grapes of the area, so when I sipped it I was not expecting the large and in charge tannin structure. Normally this may take away from the balance of the wine but here, because of sustainable viti and vini-cultural practices, the tannin actually supports the aromas of sour cherry and forest floor (earthy) while still giving the wine a nice grip and backbone. When you think of a steak Florentine made from the cherished Chianine (white bulls) of this land, this is the wine you would want to drink with it.
