Odell Cloud Catcher Milkshake IPA
Review
Traditionalists need not fear Odell's milkshake IPA, which, despite its label, skirts the cutting-edge competition's thick, creamy, sweetness in favor of dialed-in flavor and balance. Lush, resplendent gold in color, Cloud Catcher sports a fluffy white head—indeed, like a cloud—that settles into little lily pads of creamy white foam. An intoxicating perfume of peaches and cream candy and bright hop character float from the glass, with orange fruit-driven flavors to follow, per an amalgam of Galaxy, Cashmere, Azacca, and Citra hops. Perhaps most enticing is the body in perfect balance, at once creamy and crispy, exciting and crushable. Calling this a "milkshake" is mostly marketing—although, there is milk sugar in its recipe—but we'll share it across the table any day.
