Portlandia Oregon Pinot Gris 2016 Review

It says Pinot Gris on the label, but the wine does taste the way you'd expect Pinot Gris to taste. More on the full bodied side of this grape with the addition of Viognier and Muscat, the inherent lean, crisp, mineral driven characteristics are muted. It doesn’t take much for the two added grapes to have a voice in the blend and they do. The acidity is tamped down, yet the wine is still dry on the finish, but the weight of the palate makes it seem fuller than it is. It is not a true Pinot Gris and I wish they would just say so, but at $15 the wine is good and ready to share with friends or a salad.
