Landmark Vineyards Escolle Road Pinot Noir 2016 Review

I want to go to this vineyard and hug the grapes, and then the winemaker. This is a great case for single vineyard wines, which are becoming more popular in the U.S. these days. There is an intense focus and balance here, showing inherent cherry upfront that dives into savory aromas of cinnamon, black olive mingling with rosemary, and violets. As the wine opens a whisper of rhubarb swims with the sweet wood of good oak, softening the tannins and making this a wine you may not want to share. It's a fantastic representation of the cooling fog and warm sun of the central coast.
