What you should be experiencing in this wine is a nose of apples and pears with notes of tropical fruit along the lines of apricot and guava and a palate with added notes of coconut and almonds. If the alcohol wasn’t so high, all these characteristics would be individual and have their own space. Alas, because alcohol was once sugar the higher the ether the more perception of sweet you're going to get. What dominates this wine as a result is banana hard candy and a straight up vanilla bean (not a hint but a whole bean) and the lingering butter from malolactic conversion (when harsher acids are converted to creamier lactic acid) with all above aromas flying around hoping for a chance. If you like big oaky chard, this is your jam.
