Jefferson Vineyards Voignier 2016 Review
Viognier is a crazy grape. When done well the aromas are a long list of head-spinning delight. When not done well the wine can be cloying and more of a repellent. This wine is the former, and done quite well. Guava fruit aromas greet you along with pineapple, grilled peach and citrus, calmed by good acidity and balanced by a touch of vanilla adding a savory quality to the wine. It’s not easy making good Viognier here in the states, but I think Thomas would approve.
