Il Palagio "When We Dance" Chianti Classico DOCG 2017 Review

All the info on this wine is great: 13% alcohol, Sangiovese blend with native grapes Colorino and Canaiolo, stainless steel fermentation, and aging in bottle. It should make for a soft, vibrant wine. Instead this wine has sharp edges; even though the alcohol is low the heat off it is upfront. The wine's aromas are unfortunately underneath the heat and don’t show themselves too much. There is some red fruit there and a good acidity but I can’t help but get a sense of oak exposure, although the winery claims all stainless steel. In the end, this is a good Chianti Classico for those who enjoy a little more alcohol in their wine and want that punch to pair with meat.
