Groth Oakville - Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 Review

A warm climate with sand, clay and good draining gravel, along with a fog influence from the San Pablo Bay is what defines the mesoclimate of Oakville, and it’s all here in this great bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon from Groth. Rich, toothsome red wine with delicious blackberry and dark cherry fruit slathered with just the right amount of vanilla from 22 months in oak is what we should expect from this AVA and Michael Weiss, the current winemaker, finds the balance of the entire list. This wine can age another few years but is drinking wonderfully now.
