Galil Mountain is one of the ten largest wineries in Israel, but don’t let that fool you. This wine shows that size does not always matter. Coming from the Upper Galilee mountain range, grown sustainably in volcanic sand, limestone, and terra rossa soils is this earthy Sauvignon blanc with a nice, broad depth. It is not about aromas here so much as it is about mouthfeel. There is a small subregion in Sancerre called Chanvignol that has contrasting wine to it’s main region in that it is earthy and deep. I am getting that here. This wine is a pleasure to drink and less than $20; Perfect for Passover.
