This Grenache/Syrah blend is definitely the latter. It's dark in color with dense aromas of oak and sandalwood. The oak integrates well on the palate; you'll notice flavors of blackberry, dried fruit, and a sanguine, almost salty quality. The finish is clean and BIG. If you like powerful (and expensive) Grenache-based wines like Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Priorat you’ll love it, especially for its fair $25 price tag.
