Champagne Pommery Cuvee Louise Vintage Brut 2004 Review

Louise Pommery took over her husband's Champagne business and took it to a new level. Among her many achievements, she was the first to offer “Brut” Champagne, as well as to offer health and retirement funds for her employees. This vintage bottling is a wonderful celebration of the matriarch of Pommery. Rich and with depth the perlage is persistent yet fine, amplifying aromas of almond and floral notes. The fruit forward nature of the 60% Chardonnay (35% Pinot Noir) is elegant, and acidity is quite heightened for a clean finish. It is definitely worth the $120.
