Castello di Cacchiano "Millenino" Chinati Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2010 Review

All Gran Selezione Chiantis should aim to achieve what is inside this bottle. From 100% Sangiovese this wine feels like the perfect expression of Sangiovese from this commune. There may be better out there, but I have yet to experience it. Welcome to bright, tight and beautiful; dried cherry, earth and violet notes along with a welcoming vegetal tone that breaks the wine apart, allowing the other aromas to come out and play. The tannins are grippy but well integrated and the acidity is perfect. This wonder will age for a few more years but is drinking well now.
