Alois Lageder 'Lowengang' Chardonnay 2015 Review

If Chardonnay is going to be big, rich, and complex it should have an obvious air of the winemaker’s restraint; protecting and coaxing the wine into being like a sworn guardian. Even if you don’t know what any of that entails, the wine must transcend your senses and give you pleasure at the thought of your next sip. This is that wine. Here are some aromas and characteristics, but it doesn’t matter, this wine will take you away from where you are no matter what. Welcome to mature and focused aromas of caramelized pear drizzled with the juice of a blood orange on the nose, carrying over to a palate coating your senses with excellent acidity, brûlée pineapple, roasted nutmeg and just a touch of vanilla. I could type more but won’t because you should just be out buying this wine.
