How To Make Cocktails When Camping with Author Emily Vikre

Friday, June 26th, 9:00pm ET

There’s something about a beautifully balanced cocktail that mirrors the beautiful balance in nature, and the combination of the two is pure magic. In this session, Emily Vikre, distillery owner and author of Camp Cocktails: Easy, Fun, and Delicious Drinks for the Great Outdoors, will talk with us about why and how to up your outdoor drinking. Whether you are roughing it in the mountains, car camping upstate, or just hanging out by a lake or a back porch, there’s a perfect cocktail for every outdoor occasion. Emily will talk about the inspiration for the book and recipes, cover tips for camping/outdoor cocktails, making cocktails with outdoor friendly equipment. We’ll also talk about owning a distillery in Northern Minnesota and making spirits, including spirits with foraged ingredients. Then Emily will demonstrate three recipes from the book: a smokey flask cocktail, a grilled strawberry and tequila cocktail, plus how to make a marshmallow into a shot glass.
