Apparently, there are laws when it comes to White Claws.

After comedian Trevor Wallace released a viral video on his Twitter, Facebook and YouTube channel, followed by a t-shirt that reads “Ain’t No Laws When You’re Drinking Claws,” the hard seltzer company responded with a cease and desist, a spokesperson tells VinePair.

“Trevor was ‘asked by White Claw’s legal team to not sell these shirts,'” the spokesperson said.

In the video, “*drinks White Claw once*,” which currently has 1.1 million views on YouTube, Wallace pokes fun at the typical White Claw hard seltzer drinker.

On July 10, 2019 Wallace tweeted out that he had been hit with the cease and desist from White Claw.

“To everyone who bought a ‘Ain’t No Laws When You’re Drinking Cl*ws’ t-shirt, ur amazing & thank u for supporting me,” he wrote. “But, you probably got an email today issuing a refund. Apparently there r laws when you mess w/ the Cl*ws.”

And then he threw some shade at White Claw.

“I’m TRULY sorry. Thank you for understanding,” he wrote, referencing Truly Hard Seltzer, White Claw’s competitor.

Naturally, Truly jumped in with a hashtag, #NoRulysWhenYoureDrinkingTrulys, offered Wallace legal advice, and sent him a pallet of Truly Hard Seltzer Mango “to ensure his buzz wasn’t busted.”

“Heard you’re in a bit of a hard seltzer situation,” Truly’s tweet said. “Some people really know how to kill a buzz, but we are here to help.”

We expect a Trevor Wallace Truly video in the near future.
