The Brewers Association, the trade organization that represents U.S. small and independent brewers, released its annual Top 50 Brewing Companies this morning.
The annual Top 50 is comprised of two lists: Top 50 Craft Brewing Companies, listing the top 50 producing brewing companies as per the BA’s definition of “craft” (small and independent); and the Top 50 Overall Brewing Companies, which includes all U.S. brewers in both the craft and non-craft sectors.
The 2017 Top 50 U.S. Craft Brewing Companies list is led by D.G. Yuengling & Son, Boston Beer Co., Sierra Nevada Brewing, New Belgium Brewing, and Duvel Moortgat (which owns Ommegang, Firestone Walker, and Boulevard Brewing).
The 2017 Top 50 Overall Brewing Companies include Anheuser-Busch, MillerCoors, Constellation, Heineken, and Pabst in the top five. Craft brewers start making appearances at six, with Yuengling, followed by Boston Beer, Sierra Nevada, and New Belgium at nine, 10, and 11, respectively.
